Earth4All: Kenya – Five Turnarounds towards Wellbeing for All within Planetary Boundaries

This report applies the Earth4All initiative to Kenya and defines what wellbeing for all within planetary boundaries means for the country. Developed with the Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP), the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), the Millennium Institute, the international Earth4All team and a wide range of stakeholders, it identifies opportunities and policy recommendations across the five turnarounds (poverty, inequality, empowerment, food and energy) to accelerate progress on the SDGs, and Kenya's Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda. Using system dynamics modelling by the Millennium Institute, it compares two scenarios to 2050. Under 'Too Little Too Late', poverty and inequality persist and development losses mount. Under 'Giant Leap', poverty is eliminated and universal access to basic services is reached by 2035, inequality falls sharply, gender parity in schooling is achieved, and harvested areas are fully sustainably managed by 2050, putting almost all SDGs within reach.
