BUILDING CAPACITY AT THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEVEL FOR EVIDENCE-BASED POLICY PLANNING IN KENYA
The Evidence-based Policy Planning (EPP) project in Kenya, conducted from November 2020 to April 2021, was designed to facilitate evidence-based policy planning with a focus on addressing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in arid and semi-arid land (ASAL) counties. The project aimed to overcome the challenge of the lack of evidence-based policy development tools and capacity at the sub-national level in developing countries. It involved implementing a program to provide dynamic policy simulation and analysis tools for county governments in Kenya. These tools were intended to help design the most effective and cost-efficient policies to meet local objectives, especially in the counties of Isiolo and Marsabit.
