INTEGRATED ASSESSMENT OF THE UN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGS) IN TRANSFORMATION PATHWAYS TOWARDS A RESOURCE-EFFICIENT AND GREENHOUSE-GAS-NEUTRAL GERMANY

The project focused on assessing the implications of a joint climate and resource protection transformation pathway on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Germany. Employing the iSDG-model, calibrated to German data structures, the project quantified future developments up to the year 2050. It explored the extent to which the transformations towards joint climate and resource protection supported or counteracted the SDGs and identified the changes or measures needed to enhance the achievement of the SDGs. The project's modeling was aligned with the "RESCUE GreenSupreme" scenario, offering complementary insights into the nexus of policy, economy, and sustainability within the SDG framework. This initiative aimed not only to understand "what should have happened" for a sustainable transition in German society but also to explore "what might have happened" within the SDG nexus during these adaptation processes.
