Santiago’s areas of expertise are Systems Dynamics and Industrial Engineering. For over a decade, he has focused on modeling malaria transmission dynamics, assisting governments and stakeholders in Kenya and Ethiopia in developing improved malaria control policies at the local and national levels. During this time, he has also taught master's level courses in Systems Dynamics at the University of Bergen (Norway). Santiago holds a doctoral degree in Systems Dynamics and a master’s degree in Industrial Automation and Electronics. He is currently a senior modeler at the Millennium Institute and a researcher at the University of Valladolid (Spain)
