Estee is an innovative systems thinker and system dynamics modeler. She holds a doctoral degree in Integrated Ocean Management, with certification in Ocean Governance through the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO. She also has a broad interest in the discipline of environmental management, sustainable development and systems analyses. Her Doctoral research was awarded the Global Challenges University Alliance 2030 Award for the thesis of the year in relation to the UN’s sustainable development agenda. Her work broadly aims to inform government policy through strategic decision support frameworks and simulation models, with her latest publications focussed on developing a dynamic COVID-19 tourism recovery strategy for local government stakeholders in South Africa.
