Emil Zaharia-Kézdi
Head of Development
Emil is the Head of Development at the Millennium Institute, where he spearheads the
advancement of the organization's modeling framework. Leveraging extensive
experience in data analysis, data engineering, and model development, he ensures that
our policy analysts are equipped with the right tools and data to support governments
and organizations in designing effective sustainability strategies. He also collaborates
directly with our global partners network.
Emil’s expertise spans aligning input data from a multitude of international
sources—including the IMF, World Bank, WHO, FAOSTAT, UNSD, and more—covering
topics such as demographics, economics, energy, trade, finance, and material flows.
Emil has designed and built comprehensive data pipelines from scratch and developed
complex analytical frameworks, enabling sophisticated analysis and modeling across
these domains.
Emil holds an M.Phil. in System Dynamics from the University of Bergen, an M.Sc. in
Business Administration from Radboud University, an M.Sc. in Public Management from
the University of Palermo, and a B.A. in International Relations and European Studies
from Babeș-Bolyai University.
