Salma implements interdisciplinary approaches to solve sustainable development challenges. She has experience with participatory systems modeling for assessing socioeconomic and environmental impacts and promoting sustainable solutions. Her research interests are in green economy, circular economy, impacts assessment, system thinking and decision making for complex systems. Salma is also a research associate at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU CS), Germany, where she was also a project coordinator for international scientific cooperation. Her experience covers empowerment of rural women, sustainable agriculture and sustainable tourism. Salma holds a PhD in environmental and resources management from BTU CS.
