About the Position
Millennium Institute (MI) is seeking entry-level and experienced candidates for anticipated part-time employment or consulting in the following specialty areas:
Development Policy Planning
Macroeconomic Modeling and Analysis
Integrated policy analysis
Energy and Climate Modeling
The position involves modeling and analysis of a broad range of development issues, in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The candidate will be part/coordinate a team of experienced and dedicated professionals, and will interact with policy-makers in consulting and workshop settings.
Minimum of a master’s degree in development economics, environmental sciences, or related fields
Excellent analytic, research, and writing skills
Fluency in French and English
Experience in working in teams, and open and collaborative attitude
Demonstrated commitment to sustainable development issues
Experience in modeling/consulting in development policy
Experience in project leadership
Knowledge of System Dynamics (SD) modeling and/or other quantitative methods
Experience in workshop facilitation or similar group management skills
Experience in data search and analysis
Multicultural experience, particularly in developing countries
Proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish and other UN languages
The position requires on average up 15-20 hours per week for six months, with the potential to renew for a longer term subject to funding. The position requires regular international travel of up to two weeks at a time.
MI offers flexible and telecommuting work hours. Our globally dispersed team perform their day-to-day tasks from their preferred location.
