About the Position

Millennium Institute (MI) is seeking entry-level and experienced candidates for anticipated part-time employment or consulting in the following specialty areas:

 

  • Development Policy Planning 

  • Macroeconomic Modeling and Analysis

  • Integrated policy analysis 

  • Energy and Climate Modeling

 

The position involves modeling and analysis of a broad range of development issues, in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The candidate will be part/coordinate a team of experienced and dedicated professionals, and will interact with policy-makers in consulting and workshop settings.
 

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in development economics, environmental sciences, or related fields

  • Excellent analytic, research, and writing skills

  • Fluency in French and English

  • Experience in working in teams, and open and collaborative attitude

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainable development issues

 

Highly Valued

  • Experience in modeling/consulting in development policy

  • Experience in project leadership

  • Knowledge of System Dynamics (SD) modeling and/or other quantitative methods

  • Experience in workshop facilitation or similar group management skills

 

Preferred

  • Experience in data search and analysis

  • Multicultural experience, particularly in developing countries

  • Proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish and other UN languages

Work Hours

The position requires on average up 15-20 hours per week for six months, with the potential to renew for a longer term subject to funding. The position requires regular international travel of up to two weeks at a time.

 

MI offers flexible and telecommuting work hours. Our globally dispersed team perform their day-to-day tasks from their preferred location.
