MI Announces Seven-week System Dynamics-based Developing Planning Course

Arlington, VA, December 8, 2008 - MI is pleased to announce its 2009 seven-week course on System Dynamics-based Development Planning from March 23 – May 8, 2009. The course provides the theory, method, techniques and tools for System Dynamics-based development planning, and is targeted at professionals working in the development planning field, including government officials, representatives of civil society, and the academic community. It is hosted by the University of Bergen, Norway.

The course comprises three modules, each of which may be taken singly, or in combination with the others. However, the modules are designed to provide systematic capacity building, and participants would particularly benefit from taking the whole course.

The course is based on the T21 framework, developed by the Millennium Institute. This framework has received favorable evaluations from the United Nations Development Program and has been used for planning by governmental institutions of several developing and industrialized countries, the World Bank, NGOs, as well as major private corporations.
