Call for Resumes: Modeler/Analyst

Millennium Institute (MI), located in Washington, DC, USA, is a nonprofit organization working at the cutting edge of international development by combining technical excellence with vast field experience in macro analysis of economic, social, and environmental issues. Established in 1983, MI has worked in over 30 developing and transition countries worldwide, developing scenario playing models that support comprehensive and integrated analysis of development challenges such as economic growth, poverty reduction, environment and natural resource management, climate change, and post conflict peace-building. Our clients include governments, national planning and policy research institutions, international development agencies, and private multinational corporations.

MI is seeking entry-level and experienced candidates for anticipated employment in the following specialty areas:

  • Macroeconomic Modeling and Analysis
  • Energy and Climate Change Modeling
  • HIV/AIDS Modeling
  • Education Sector Modeling
  • Population Modeling
  • Development Economics
  • Environmental Economics
  • Operations Research
  • Econometric Modeling

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in development economics, international politics, environmental studies, or related fields
  • Knowledge of System Dynamics (SD) modeling and Vensim
  • Experience modeling of development issues using SD
  • Experience in data search and analysis
  • Experience with stakeholder participation, dialog, and similar group-management skills
  • Experience on sharing best practices/learning
  • Multicultural experience, particularly in developing countries
  • Multilingual - speak and write good English and one or more of the following languages: French, Spanish, and Portuguese
